Education and Democracy in North Africa - Current Challenges and Visions for the Future”,

Dear colleagues, 
We kindly invite you to recommend candidates for the upcoming 18th DGAP New Faces Conference on Education and Democracy in North Africa - Current Challenges and Visions for the Future, conceptualized and organized by DGAP’s EU-Middle East Forum (EUMEF), in close cooperation with the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the German Federal Foreign Office, the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa), the Kawakibi Democracy Transition Center (KADEM), and the Freie Universität Berlin Cairo Office. The conference will take place in Tunis, 13-16 June 2013.

Profile of candidates: Young Professionals with at least two years of professional work experience (aged around 27-35) in academia, politics, the private sector, and civil society organizations such as research centers, NGOs or the media. Participants should come from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey, Germany, the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Greece.

Please circulate this call as widely as possible and ask your candidates to send the application form together with their CV, a 1-page outline of their intended contribution and an Email outlining their motiviation to participate to eumef1@dgap.org. Applicants should read all attached documents carefully, since they contain further details of the application procedure and the conference. Application deadline is Sunday, 7 April 2013.

The organizers will cover accommodation costs and provide travel subsidies (see attachment). Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any further questions.
