INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Communication Officer

Tanzanian Civil Society Forum on Climate Change (ForumCC) is an association of civil society organizations committed to work on climate change in their own programmes as well as through advocacy. It links up local environment and climate change organizations across a range of sectors. It was initiated in October 2008 and formally registered in early 2013. The purpose of the forum is to ensure effective and informed engagement of Civil Society Organizations in Tanzania on Climate Change issues for the benefit of the environment and people in poverty who are affected. The role is to work with and strengthen members, both in strengthening their work on the ground and their influence in advocacy.

Forumcc is currently looking for active and knowledgeable Intern to work as a Communication Officer to enhance the impact of our work.
Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Prepare communication plans and strategies to enhance ForumCC visibility and information dissemination.
  • Keep abreast of climate change relevant initiatives, processes and policy developments nationally and internationally.
  • Synthesize and summarize information to be uploaded to the ForumCC website, Facebook Page, Twitter Account and other social media.
  • Managing communication with ForumCC Members, Partners, and other Stakeholders. This includes creating, updating and maintaining database and mailing lists.
  • Prepare progress monthly report for the communication works.

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:
A Degree holder; Experience working on communication issues and preferably in NGOs; and Informed on climate change issues and processes at local, national, regional and international level.
