Raleigh International, the youth and sustainable development charity is seeking volunteers to work in rural Tanzania on education, sanitation and environmental projects. Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the world, with many of its people living below the World Bank poverty line. You can help to make a genuine difference to rural communities as well as protecting Tanzania’s unique environmental heritage.

About the Role
Raleigh International is seeking committed, enthusiastic volunteers to join expeditions in Tanzania. You will work as part of the team, with local project partners and NGOs on projects crucial to marginalised rural communities in Tanzania.

Essential Skills
• Interest in other cultures and sustainable development
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude
• Effective and clear communication skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

Skills you will develop
• Advanced communication skills
• International leadership skills
• Problem solving
• A global mindset
• Resilience, adaptability and perseverance

During a 10 week expedition to Tanzania, you will complete an environmental project, a community development project and an exciting and challenging adventure project. You will meet people of many different ages and backgrounds, whilst making a positive impact upon rural Tanzanian communities and developing your own employability skills. Your team work, communication, leadership and problem solving skills will all be tested in this uniquely challenging environment; sure to impress any future employer!
